Why Dr. Snyder was Nominated:
Amy’s leadership came into sharp focus during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she co-founded and chaired the APTA Private Practice COVID Advisory Committee. Amidst uncertainty and crisis, Amy brought calm, clarity, and decisiveness—guiding practice owners and colleagues nationwide with resources and solutions that helped keep clinics viable. Her ability to ask the right questions, distill complex issues, and inspire action cemented her role as a trusted leader in one of the most challenging periods for physical therapy.
Her service to APTA Private Practice extends well beyond the pandemic. Amy has served as Secretary, Vice President, and Director on the Board, playing a critical role in major organizational transitions and consistently modeling integrity, collaboration, and vision. At the state level, she was a founding member of Wisconsin’s Private Practice Special Interest Group, contributing to advocacy and networking efforts that strengthened independent practices across the region.
As co-owner of PT Plus in Wisconsin, Amy has carried forward a family legacy with excellence and innovation. Under her leadership, the practice has grown to seven locations, expanded specialty services, and built strong community partnerships. She is equally devoted to mentoring staff, supporting students, and advancing clinical care—particularly in specialties such as craniofacial pain, women’s health, and complex conditions like Ehlers-Danlos and POTS.
Colleagues describe Amy as visionary yet approachable, able to balance her roles as clinician, business owner, professional leader, mentor, wife, and mother with grace and joy. Her lifelong commitment to servant leadership, advocacy, mentorship, and business excellence makes her a model of the values the Dicus Award represents: passion, integrity, collaboration, and innovation.
