About Stacey: 

Stacey Alberts, PT, is the founder and owner of Total Rehab–Orthopedic & Sports Specialists, a physical and occupational therapy practice serving three Iowa communities. Since founding the practice in 2005, she has grown it into a multisite organization dedicated to exceptional care, education, and community service. Her professional leadership includes nine years on the Board of the APTA Private Practice Section, service as Treasurer of the Iowa Physical Therapy Association, membership on the Midwest Therapy Network Board, and extensive involvement in advocacy, reimbursement, and educational programming.

 Stacey has also served in leadership roles supporting her church, local bank, chamber of commerce, and school. Through volunteer leadership and fundraising, she helped direct more than $250,000 toward school improvement projects, including expanded opportunities and improved facilities for female athletes. She also established a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to support the long-term sustainability of Lynnville-Sully athletic programs. Her two decades of coaching high school softball and baseball reflect her enduring commitment to mentorship, service, and developing young people both on and beyond the field.

Stacey Alberts was nominated for the Robert G. Dicus Award in recognition of her sustained leadership, service and impact on APTA Private Practice and the physical therapy profession.

Her nominators highlighted her nine years of service on the APTA Private Practice Board of Directors, leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, commitment to education and mentorship, advocacy for physical therapist-owned practices, and success building Total Rehab into a thriving multisite practice.

Stacey's nomination packet also emphasized her extensive community service and described Stacey as a thoughtful, principled and collaborative leader.  She consistently invests in the growth of others, and her mentorship across the Section has strengthened the profession on every level.
