Key Contacts: Tips for Advocacy (old)
Tips for Advocacy
Members of the APTA Private Practice Key Contact Subcommittee have created these videos to help you build a relationship with a member of Congress and understand the tools you can use for a successful visit.
Each video is categorized by level of content. Those labeled as Beginner are the recommended starting point for new APTA Private Practice Key Contacts. Intermediate videos are suggested for those who have a basic understanding of the APTA Private Practice Key Contact program and the governmental process. Advanced videos are recommended for those who are comfortable with their role as a Key Contact and are interested in deepening their legislative knowledge. At any point, these videos could be used as a quick refresher before an office or site visit with a member of Congress or their staff.
If you have a visit scheduled, please contact our APTA Private Practice lobbyist, Alpha Lillstrom Cheng, at Alpha@lillstrom.com to discuss the upcoming visit.
