Continued advocacy from APTA, members, and partner organizations has led to the introduction of a bill that seeks to repeal the outdated policy known as the Multiple Procedure Payment Reduction, or MPPR.
Rep. Deborah Ross, D-N.C., introduced the RECOVER Act (H.R. 8386) on April 20 to repeal MPPR, which is the Medicare Part B payment policy that imposes excessive and unnecessary payment reductions on specific "always therapy" codes, significantly impacting the financial viability of therapy practices and limiting access to care.
