This course will introduce common scenarios of a patient and/or staff exposure to COVID-19. After exposures have been identified, this course will explain how to navigate any resulting human resources conflicts and a plan for how to message exposure risks to patients and staff. This will include tactics and communication strategies surrounding HIPAA and privacy concerns, as well as CDC guidelines. Finally, there will be an opportunity for questions and answer with webinar attendees.

Objectives

Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify scenarios regarding exposure to practice patients and staff.

  2. Create strategic communication plans within HIPAA and CDC guidelines to communicate positive COVID-19 test outcomes to practice patients and staff. 

  3. Develop staff guidelines for PTO use during mandatory quarantine and time out of office pending COVID test results.

  4. Outline how to create HR structures to support staff time off to support parental obligations for ill children.
