Two PPS Volunteer Opportunities Available

If interested, contact Carol Freysinger, Executive Director by Jan 31.

APTA Centennial

In 2021, APTA will celebrate 100 years as a member association - and launch the next century as the largest community for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students!

To help celebrate, the Private Practice Section is seeking an ambassador who will connect PPS with these exciting activities and help the Section get involved. The goal of the ambassador program is to ensure a spirit of collaboration and that APTA and its components are well aligned as we all work to plan our national and local celebrations.

The ambassadors will serve as the two-way conduit for communications between APTA national headquarters and the components, receiving and sharing information on events, fundraisers, and service initiatives. As PPS makes its plans for the Centennial, the PPS ambassador will keep APTA HQ in the loop and APTA will do the same with APTA’s centennial celebration plans.

PTNow

PTNow's mission is to assist physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in day-to-day practice. Its official mission statement: "PTNow translates physical therapy knowledge into action, supports evidence-informed care, and helps clinicians improve their clinical decision making. PTNow promotes using the best available evidence to achieve optimal patient outcomes and enhances collaboration within the physical therapy profession."

PTNow, the flagship website for evidence-based practice resources, is available as part of every APTA membership.

The Private Practice Section is seeking a PPS Liaison to PTNow. The PTNow liaisons from APTA sections meet quarterly with APTA Staff by conference call, with one in-person meeting at the Combined Sections Meeting (CSM). This year, that meeting will be held on Thurs, Feb 13, at 5pm MST in the Crowne Plaza, Red Cloud Room in Denver, CO.
